Specialised functions are delegated to sub-committees. The two committees HR will have dealings with are:
The Management Committee
Certain membership applications or changes have to be presented to the Management Committee for consideration i.e:
- Membership eligibility of special dependants i.e mother, father, brother, adopted child etc - if requested by the member
- Appeals on backdating the date of commencement of membership or withdrawals
The Ex Gratia Committee
Members may apply for benefits in addition to those provided for in the Rules. An application will be considered by the Ex Gratia Committee which may assist members by awarding additional funding. These awards are granted in cases of exceptional clinical circumstances and/or extreme financial hardship. Decisions shall not set a precedent or determine future policy as each case is dealt with on its own merits. Members can be directed to the web and call centre for the appropriate forms and process.
