Joe is an employer-appointed Trustee and has served on the Board and the Scheme's Management Committee since 2017. Joe gained experience as a Trustee on retirement funds and held several senior management positions at Transnet, SAFCOL, and finally the local forestry division of Mondi Limited, where he has been responsible for finance, procurement, land management, and corporate governance. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a comprehensive understanding of the financial and operational aspects of the Anglo Medical Scheme and our industry.

Frank spent most of his corporate career with Mondi and then Anglo American and retired in 2015 from his position as Head of Occupational Health. He subsequently went into private specialist occupational medicine practice and occupational health consulting. He spent two years in full-time clinical practice overseas and consulted to the World Bank on Occupational Health. Frank served five years as Trustee during his time at Anglo American and was re-elected as member-appointed Trustee in 2019. He chairs the Scheme's Management Committee and the Ex Gratia Committee.

Julia has a Bachelor of Arts and LLB from the University of Cape Town, complemented by a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of Free State and a certificate in Trustee Training from Wits University. Her career commenced as a legal advisor in the insurance and healthcare industry. Her professional journey includes a 12-year tenure as the Principal Officer of Nedgroup Medical Aid Scheme, followed by her most recent position as the Principal Officer of Old Mutual Staff Medical Aid Fund. With 22 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the Scheme. Julia's dedication to health extends beyond her professional life. She is an ardent advocate for wellness and fitness, having actively participated in numerous endurance events, including Ironman, Two Oceans, Double Century road bike and the Transbaviaans mountain bike event. Julia joined the Anglo Medical Scheme in 2023 as Principal Officer.
