DrConnect disclaimer for AMS members

COVID-19 consultations paid by the Scheme
The AMS Board of Trustees approved the funding of DrConnect for AMS members for COVID-19 consultations. If you have qualifying symptoms you can use this tool to connect with a doctor for a COVID-19 consultation, paid by the Scheme and not from your out-of-hospital benefits (Standard Care Plan) or Medical Savings Account (Managed Care Plan).

What is DrConnect?
DrConnect is a virtual care platform, connecting members with doctors for online consultations via text, call or video call. Discovery Health holds the South African licence for this global tool, joining over 140 000 doctors across 200 countries and 147 specialities.

How do I log in to DrConnect?
You need to use your AMS log in details for the AMS member website to prove that you are a qualifying member. If you have not yet registered as a member on this website, please register here.

What happens to my data and information I share
When using DrConnect you are exiting the AMS website and systems. Data and information you share while using this tool, will be shared between you, DrConnect and the health care provider you are consulting with

Difference of functionality for AMS members and DHMS members
The DrConnect tool offers members of participating schemes administered by Discovery Health consultations with doctors from different disciplines by using the Discovery HealthID, an Electronic Health Record tool. AMS is currently considering DrConnect for other consultations, but at this stage only COVID-19 consultations are available to AMS members.

Due to the urgency of the matter no customisations for AMS could be facilitated. All content and information you will see on this tool apply to Discovery, such as telephone numbers or promoted information.
